Icare tonometer

Within the last year we have purchased new technology in the form of the ICare tonometer in both Ayr and Galston. These replace the old “puffer “ test which everyone remembers and most people dislike!! The eye (intraocular) pressure is measured by using a very light probe to make momentary and gentle contact with the patient’s cornea, in most cases you don’t feel a thing. High intraocular pressure can be a sign of glaucoma, and this new test allows us to monitor pressure more accurately and quickly.
